Energy Cycle

From energy savings to energy neutrality

Inefficient operation of wastewater treatment plants inevitably leads to high energy consumption and consequently high costs. On the contrary, anaerobic sludge stabilisation substantially lowers energy input (~60%), construction volume (~33%) and sludge production (~33%). According to the Federal Statistical Office, in 2017 Germany generated 1.491 GWh of electricity out of sewage gas.

In favour to the high energy consumption challenge, legal framework now enables possibilities for energy regeneration from co-treatment of sewage sludge and biowaste. Especially after the European feed ban on food and kitchen waste the Water Companies are increasingly turning to the digestion of food wastes to enhance their production of renewable energy as well as to enhance their income.

CNP CYCLES is one of the world’s pioneers in the recovery of carbon (C), all the way to energy-autonomous plant operation. With our innovative solutions, you save electricity through a more efficient use of energy, and even more, you produce regenerative energy, converted to electricity and heat. By doing so, you reduce the CO2 emission (Carbon Footprint).
